A Long Awaited Update

Hey folks, it's kinda been a long time.  My 10-anniversary of being here on DA passed back in May.  So I'm a reaaaaaaaaaally old DA user now.  Neat huh?

Anyway, I'll give you guys some much needed quick nuggets of info, just to let you know that I'm working on hard and getting through school, not being dead and stuff.  Kay?

1) I was a douchbag for precisely 1 comment.

Context is: I got pissed off because he was blaming people running a marathon for charity of all things for obscure acts of war committed by the US government years ago, and saying that the people who died in the Boston bombings deserved it by extension.

I'm not gonna apologize for getting mad at him.  That was completely justified.  However, I will apologize for blaming the entirety of Russia by extension for his behavior, because I basically did the same thing I got mad at him for in the first place, and even if I was doing so as a thought-exercise in order to prove a point, there's no getting around the fact that genocidal rage ain't cool, alright kids?

On a side note, I'm not commenting on other people's political shenanigans for a while at least.  Frankly, I have better things to do with my time, so while you will see me express my very pro humanist socialist democratic anti-racist views, I'm gonna spend more time acting on them for the benefit of mankind than wasting my time pontificating on the internet.  Oh, and I definitely won't be arguing with THAT guy again anytime soon.  Clearly I gotta check my civility.  Mmmyep.

2) I play bass now

Nah, I haven't quit art or anything, don't worry.  I'll post some new stuff later this week.

But seriously, I've been practicing bass for months now, and now I'm finally competent enough to play with other folks, and seriously loving it.  In general, I've been a lot more sociable lately; that's actually the main reason why I haven't been posting as much.

3) V-Con happened
I've got a commission or two to finish, but in general it was slow for everybody.  I'm hoping to make up the difference at Canzine West next month.
