P.O.T-Unrest in the Forest-Part 1-COVER, WIP 2 by mosobot64 P.O.T-Unrest in the Forest-Part 1-COVER, WIP 2 by mosobot64
So, Clink City just ended on my webcomic, so now I'm gearing up for the next chapter!

This is a rough concept for the cover of the next chapter. Please let me know what you think, and what I can tweak. I'll have the final version in a couple of days.

PS: Yes, the previous WIP of this has been scrapped. [link]

It's really too rough to get a bead on what you're trying to express here, but essentially a cover should either try to summarize the chapter in one image or focus on a key moment in the story. Should the two characters be looking at each other with all of what's going on in the background, especially the sentient tree there?

The composition looks strong and I'm eager to see it develop.

What I'm trying to express between the two sisters is that they're really surprised by what they're seeing. The trees will be mostly shadowed in the final composition, so we won't know if they're menacing or friendly. That's the question I;m hoping the audience will want to read on to answer.

For surprise, you'll want to isolate the entire pupil in the eye, without it touching the eyelid.

Rightie. Anything else?

Well, like I said, the composition is solid. Hard to crit much else at this stage (not knowing what those characters are sitting on the branches, etc.) I think you'll be fine.
